Business Partnership Groups (BPG)

A Business Partnership Group (BPG) is a community owned group made up of members from local businesses, community representatives (such as council, media, law enforcement, Rotary etc.), students, staff and parents.

This group represents those that actively support the Beacon Model and the associated initiatives within schools and communities.  BPG participants collaborate on and plan for initiatives, networking, events and ideas which sustain the Beacon Model and its programs in a school and its community.

The business, school and community are all engaged in the pursuit of positive career pathways for young people.

In 2015, Beacon worked with 118 schools. Each school had an average of 48 interactions between young people and industry professionals through an average of 31 career education activities per school.

These outcomes were achieved through the support of Beacon’s dedicated partners, volunteers, schools and communities, who together have helped shape the lives of 13,440 young people.

Business Partnership Groups build the following

Students Social Capital and future career possibilities are enhanced via strong networks between the school and business communities.

Schools are formally connected with the local business community, supporting them to leverage multiple opportunism for their students.

Industry gains direct input into careers education agenda within the school community, resulting work ready young people and more direct access to future employees who are ready for the world of work.

Community gains development of stronger networks between schools and industry resulting in greater opportunity and support of youth employment indicatives.
