The Australian Capital Territory Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Background Checking Act 2011 is administered by Access Canberra.

VOLUNTEERS – Please follow one of the processes below.

VOLUNTEERS: IF YOU HAVE A CHECK

  1. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register and provide your Working with Vulnerable People Registration details in your eBeacon profile (in the Working with Children section).
  2. If you are already registered for eBeacon please sign in and update your profile to include your Working with Vulnerable People Registration details (in the Working with Children section).
  3. Please scan both sides of your card and provide the copy via email to wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au
  4. Once we have received your card, our records will be updated and you will receive an email from eBeacon confirming that your Working with Children Check requirements have been validated.

VOLUNTEERS: IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CHECK

  1. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register.
  2. Please apply for a free volunteer check using the application form that is available on the Access Canberra site.
  3. The following information will need to be included on the application form:
    • Purpose of Registration:  Volunteer
    • Registration type:  General Registration to work with both children and disadvantage adults
    • Regulated Employer/Activity Organisation:   Beacon Foundation
    • Applicants Position: Volunteer
    • Address:  40 Molle Street, Hobart TAS  7000
    • Contact person:  WWCC Admin
    • Phone:  1300 935 627 (or 02 6234 4155)
    • Email address: wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au
    • Data Collection – The following information is for statistical purposes only. What regulatory activity do you intend to engage in?  Child education services
  4. Please email wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au to advise that you have lodged your application.

 

Once your application has been processed and approved, Access Canberra will send you an assessment notice and your card.

  1. Please sign-in to eBeacon and provide the card details in the Working with Children section of your profile.
  2. Please email a scanned copy of your WWVP card (both sides) to wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au.
  3. Once we have received your card, our records will be updated and you will receive an email from eBeacon confirming that your Working with Children Check requirements have been validated.

TEACHERS

Teachers in the ACT hold WWVP checks.

  1. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register and provide your Working with Vulnerable People Registration details in your eBeacon profile (in the Working with Children section).
  2. If you are already registered for eBeacon please sign in and update your profile to include your Working with Vulnerable People Registration details (in the Working with Children section).
