QLD- Blue Card - Volunteering with Beacon

The Queensland Blue Card system is the equivalent of a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and is administered by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.  Please contact the Department directly if you have any queries regarding the application process:

IF YOU HAVE A CHECK...

  1. If you are already registered for eBeacon please sign in and include your Blue Card details in the Working with Children section of your eBeacon profile.
  2. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register and then provide your Blue Card details in your eBeacon profile (in the Working with Children section).
  3. Please complete a ‘Link an applicant cardholder to this organisation’ form and a ‘Confirmation of Identity’ form, scan both forms and email them to wwcc@beaconfoundation.net
  4. Beacon will complete the forms and lodge them with Blue Card Services. We will notify you via email once your forms have been lodged.
  5. You will receive written notification from Blue Card Services once your application has been approved.
  6. Beacon notify you via email when we have validated your Blue Card.

  1. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register.
  2. Please complete a ‘Blue Card Application’ form (complete part D only) and a ‘Confirmation of Identity’ form, scan both forms and email to wwcc@beaconfoundation.net.
  3. Beacon will complete the forms and lodge them with Blue Card Services. We will notify you via email once your forms have been lodged.
  4. You will receive written notification from Blue Card Services once your application has been approved.
  5. Beacon notify you via email when we have validated your Blue Card.

IF YOU ARE A TEACHER OR POLICE OFFICER...

Teachers

If you are a teacher who is currently registered with the Queensland College of Teachers you are exempt from requiring a Blue Card.

Please follow step 1 or 2 of the “If you have a check” process above and provide your QCT registration number and expiry date in the Working with Children section of your eBeacon profile.

 

Police Officers

Police officers providing child-related services that fall outside of their professional duties do not require a Blue Card. However, they should instead hold an exemption card.

I HAVE AN EXEMPTION CARD:

  1. If you are already registered for eBeacon please sign in and update your profile to include your Exemption Card details (in the Working with Children section).
  2. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register and then provide your Exemption Card details in your eBeacon profile (in the Working with Children section).
  3. Once you have provided the details above, please complete the ‘Link an applicant cardholder to this organisation’ form and a ‘Confirmation of Identity’ form, scan and email to wwcc@beaconfoundation.net.
  4. Beacon will complete the forms and lodge them with Blue Card Services.
  5. Beacon will email you when we have validated your Exemption Card.

I DON’T HAVE AN EXEMPTION CARD

  1. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register.
  2. Please complete an ‘Exemption Card Application’ form and a ‘Confirmation of Identity’ form, scan both forms and email them to wwcc@beaconfoundation.net.
  3. Beacon will lodge both forms with the Department and notify you when this is complete.
  4. You will receive written notification from Blue Card Services once your Exemption Card has been issued.
  5. Beacon will notify you via email when we have validated your Exemption Card.
