TAS - Registration to Work with Vulnerable People - Volunteering with Beacon

The Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) is carried out by the Working with Vulnerable People registration unit.

VOLUNTEERS – Please follow one of the processes below.

VOLUNTEERS: IF YOU HAVE A CHECK

  1. If you are already registered for eBeacon please sign in and update your profile to include your Working with Vulnerable People/Children card details (in the Working with Children section).
  2. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register and then provide your card details in your eBeacon profile (in the Working with Children section).
  3. Please go to the department’s MyRegistration portal and update your details to show Beacon as an organisation that you are volunteering with.
  4. Enter the following Employment and Volunteering details:
    • Organisation Name: Beacon Foundation
    • Organisation Address: 40 Molle St. Hobart, Tasmania 7001
    • Contact name: WWCC Admin
    • Phone: 1300 935 627
    • Email: wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au
    • In what capacity are you engaged in this role? Volunteering
    • Start date? Please enter the date that you registered for eBeacon, or intend to start volunteering.
  5. Beacon will notify you via email when we have validated your Working with Vulnerable People/Children card.

VOLUNTEERS: IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CHECK

  1. If you are not registered for eBeacon please register.
  2. Go to the Tasmanian Government website and complete the a ‘Volunteer’ Working with Vulnerable People/Children application form. Note there is an application fee payable by the applicant ($19.44 as at 1st July 2019). Please complete your application as soon as possible. Processing by the department may take up to six weeks.
  3. Enter the following Employment and Volunteering details:
    • Type of Application: Child Education Services (Government Schools)
    • Organisation Name: Beacon Foundation
    • Organisation Address: 40 Molle Hobart, Tasmania 7000
    • Contact name: WWCC Admin
    • Phone: 1300 935 627
    • Email: wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au
    • In what capacity are you engaged in this role? Volunteering
    • Start date? Please enter the date that you apply for the check
  4. Please email wwcc@beaconfoundation.org.au to advise that you have lodged your application.
  5. Please complete your application at a Service Tasmania outlet as soon as possible.
  6. You will receive a letter and card from the department, once your check has been approved.
  7. Sign-in to eBeacon and provide your WVP/WWC card details (in the Working with Children section of your profile).
  8. We will notify you via email when we have validated your card.

TEACHERS

All teachers in Tasmania are required to hold a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.

Please follow step 1 or 2 of the “If you have a check” process above. You are not required to link Beacon to your Registration to Work with Vulnerable People card.
